Alessandro

"I am a very happy immigrant", says Alessandro, when asked about his experience of living in the UK.

Alessandro was always passionate about wine, picking up this interest from his granddad, a winemaker, whom he very much loved and revered. Being born in an Italian town not far from Rome, he almost meant to be a good wine connoisseur. Now he owns a local wine shop in Bermondsey. He can always be seen through the glass window of his shop, chatting happily with his customers. Alessandro is an expert in his produce and knows every detail about the wine brands that he sells.

As many others, Alessandro didn't plan to stay long when he came to visit his cousin in London twenty years ago. But he stayed, first helping out at a family restaurant, and then opening his first shop in 2011. Now his business thrives, very much to the delight of his customers.
