Ewa Mizera
Ewa moved to London in 2005. She immediately felt at home, even though she didn't speak much English. She picked up a few jobs but couldn't get a promotion because of her language level. That upset her, so she enrolled at a university for business studies, and two years after graduation, she set up her own language school. There she helps people who are in the same situation as she was, stuck in their jobs for years without English fluency.
Now Ewa is on the student path again, studying for an MA in psycholinguistics at the University of York. Psycholinguistics explores the most important qualities of language learning and explains why some people pick up the vocabulary quickly, and some struggle, studying for years. "It is about how we learn a language and how the brain processes all the information when we acquire language. I want to help people express themselves as freely as possible", she explains her choice.
