Salimato Embalo

Salimato Embalo lives and works in the Great Yarmouth community. Her Nationality is Portuguese, she is currently employed as a Covid Marshal on the Test and Trace team. During her time as a Covid Marshal she has assisted with the in full LFT and vaccine sites, as well promoting Covid control measures to businesses and the public. It has been a very rewarding job so far, being in a position to help the community she lives in has been very important to her. Salimato hopes she has helped in some small way to help those around her.

When Salimato was very young she moved from Guinea-Bissau where she was born, to Portugal with her family. After many years living and studying in Portugal Salimato decided to move to Great Yarmouth, where she now lives with her family. When Salimato moved here, the immigrant community wasn't as developed as it is now, so it was a lonely experience. However,  for Salimato home is where her community is. After almost 20 years of living in Great Yarmouth, she definitely feels at home here.
