Pallavi Datta

London didn't seem very welcoming to Pallavi at first. But after returning back to the city after her father's untimely death, she decided to stay.

"It became the city that held me through my grief... I find it hard to imagine my life anywhere else in the world in the near future", she explains.

Pallavi used to live near Waterloo station while she studied graphic design at London College of Communication. Even though she gained an entrepreneur visa to work as a freelancer, and has been living in East London since 2018, she is reminded of her first home in the UK whenever she is near the Old Vic facade.

After her father passed away Pallavi brought his diary from India. She says he had a habit of writing down the birthdays of family and friends, and was famous in the family for never forgetting to convey wishes on someone's birthday or anniversary.
