After studying in British schools in Netherlands and her parents birthplace of Morocco, Yasmine decided to continue her education in English universities.

She says that with her immigrant background she experiences much less racism in London than in her Dutch home town, Utrecht.

However she doesn't feel completely at home; "When it comes to me personally, no matter how good the opportunities, lifestyle, beautiful country/city, the people will remain more important", explains Yasmine.
London Bridge train station brings back feelings of familiarity, reminding her of a train station she used to commute daily to her school back in the Netherlands.

Moving to Britain, Yasmine brought along her Dutch bank card reader. "It is like a safety net for me being in London in any case something were to happen", says the student.
